Sky study 13

Some skies are unapologetic.

-----

It's so hard to get any work done when every time one turns around, one's animolecules are cuddling in new ways and combinations. This was actually a very rare one: Lynx and Rumi. They do like each other, but generally only as play partners. Lynx had been dozing in the papasan already when Rumi decided to join him.

Hi Jala! Thanks for coming by my site so I could be introduced to yours. I agree, the dog show sketches are pretty funny. 'Best in Show' was such a great movie and I certainly see the bits of the Westminster show I watch in that light!

You cloud paintings look beautiful even if you're not happy with their on-line appearance. I'd love to see them in real life. Ive read some of the stuff at ARC and find the founder to be extraordinarily anti modern abstract. Is that just him or are all of the ARC schools like that?

I used to have a cat that looked exactly like Lynx. I do not know what to think of the backbend stretch...either your husband doing this or the cat putting up with it!!! I think it shows you have developed a great rapore of trust with your kitties. Have to say I like the shots of your house, too.

Why not orange and blue? I wish I had thought of that - very nice.

"Animolecules" - I love this!! I think it must be incorporated into my personal dictionary. The photos are priceless.

I am loving the cloud studies, Jala! I get the "not happy with the online versions" that you mention (it's that way with *all* of my paintings), but really, they look great.

Hi Kaylyn! I wrote some responses on your blog.

Hi Casey - Always nice to get a Colorist compliment. It was fun using such high-saturation orange, just to be bold.

Hi Sonya, fellow cloud lover - I invented and started saying "animolecules" a few years ago. You're welcome to use it. :)

Dear Jala,

Forgive me if I express my thoughts not about your interesting painting but rather about your two cats. Their interaction make me wish that had two cats and not one, I think it is no different for us, as we need companionship to be happy and balanced.

Thank you for sharing and I wish you a wonderful Easter day weekend,
Egmont

We actually see skies that resemble this beauty. I look at them and think there's no way I can describe it in paint, or even a photo.
Yet, there you go.

How could these pictures be my favorites of your kitties when I say that about all of them.
But that Rumi is a performer.
Love the series: Clouds and Kits both.

Egmont - of course you are forgiven. ;) It is so very sweet to see two cats cuddling together. I just imagine all that softness up against equal softness--and it makes my heart all soft.

Hi Bonnie! These clouds come from my head, but people seem to "recognize" them...which is infinitely intriguing to me. We seem to have a lot of cloud patterns (cloud archetypes?) stored in our memories... Speaking of Clouds, how is YOUR archetype?
Rumi is such a ham, it's unbelievable.

Lovely painting. I hadn't noticed you'd gotten into the DailyAbstractPainters - congratulations!

Poor Lynx - whether he wants to or not he's going to love Rumi! And Egmont - I felt the same way, and got a kitten as a companion for my beloved Isabelle - and she has never forgiven me! They have an uneasy truce - he'd love to be her buddy, she can't stand him! We did all the right things (keeping the kitten in another room, where she could smell him at first, but she - from day one - would stand at his door and shriek - like we've never heard before. We did all the loving we ever did with her - she just didn't want him there! So.... it doesn't ALWAYS work out! We have an uneasy truce here, and they were both horrified when we got the dog... Foolish people!

I come to see the cloud studies and then forget to comment on them because I'm taken over by the kitties :D
They are adorable. When I had two cats, they were never close like yours are. My Wendell (who will be 14 tomorrow) just teased the heck out of my white girl and she spent most of her time hissing and running from him. Next time, which I hope is still way off, I'll get two together.
Rumi and Lynx are precious together and I also, would be distracted into taking a ton of photos of their cuteness!
Happy Easter and God Bless.
