More pears! These are wonderful in pastel, Jala. I really liked the ones you painted last week as well - lots of character captured in simple compositions.
You know that bridge twixt realism and abstraction you/I referred to? Okay, if you insist, you are not there; you are UNDER the bridge, you modest troll.
I'm a painter (and writer and Spanish instructor) living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I studied classical art in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) school, Colorado Academy of Art, full-time for two years, in order to benefit from the rigorous atelier-style training. I am currently dedicated to exploring abstract and semi-abstract art, working in oil and also in soft pastel. I firmly believe that all human beings are creative, whether or not they have yet found an outlet for the innate creative urge, and that the creative arts are the highest form of human expression. You know when you were talking about the bridge between realism and abstraction? You are there. These are great.
Cute little orange rumps on these. The green pear has delightful glowing color.

Sam - Thank you, you're too kind. I'm not there yet, but hopefully someday I will be.
Loriann - "Rumps"--hee hee, funny word.
Brian M - Yep, more pears. Thank you so much!
Jala - don't forget your protein. Paint a hamburger!
