Cleo is usually a well-behaved girl in the studio. But the other day I discovered this on the floor:
Miss Lemon loves the springtime...

Night moon
Pastel on Sennelier LaCarte, approx. 4" x 9".
Been a while since I did a moon. This is called "Night Moon"--redundant title? Not really, because the last couple of moons I did were Day Moons. Oh, and there was a Solstice Eclipse one too.

I love the special bond between Rumi and Gadjo. From the moment they met, they were two peas in a pod. And they still are.

Don't forget, these next two weekends are Open Studios here in Boulder. Come visit me if you're in town. I'm Studio #92 this year.
This Friday night is the reception at the Boulder Public Library, 6 -8 pm--see one piece from each of the 129 participating artists.

No, I didn't go back to my previous pastels style. While organizing my studio for the upcoming Open Studios, I decided this is one of the twenty or so I'm going to frame, and realized I had never shown it here, so I had to photograph and name it.

Things have been difficult and chaotic lately. The Husband, who had been looking for work for some time, found a new job a few weeks ago...and lost it a couple of days ago. Then there was the termination of the old health insurance, the figuring out the new one, and now the termination of the new one.
Back to square one.
I got a bit of good news today, though: found out I got juried into Open Studios again. Please come if you are in Boulder the first two weekends of October!

The blue-eyed brothers--the biggest cat in the house, and the smallest--have been hanging out a lot together lately.

In India (state of Bihar). This is India: colorful, dirty, chaotic, fascinating. And yes, goats, cows, and feral dogs and cats pretty much live off of the ubiquitous garbage piles.
