Yellow pear 2

A nice, plump, friendly pear that called my name at the grocery store.

Well, Jala, I like the painting. Very well done. But I don't see much yellow. Does that mean it is not ripe yet?

Jala, I've seen lots of pear paintings by other artists. - this is one of the best I've seen. You captured interest by looking down at it and using a deep shadow. It's bathed in a warm glow!

Thank you, Janelle, what a nice compliment! (The looking down on it is sort of an artifact of the way I'm set up, though, so can't really claim that part as intentional...:), but the darkness of the shadow areas was.)

Kathleen - Thanks!

Bill - artistic license. :)

Lovely.
You achieve very natural color, even when using artificial light. Really nice.

Jala- you really captured the foreshortening of that pear and all it's sides and shapes.
The shadow, and that little peeking reflection on the underside of the pear is a perfect touch.
Colors are beautiful.

I love your color choices in the shadow side. What a nice surprise to see that teal.

Hey Jala, I have just been to your website and I love it all! Beautiful work! And you write novels... and short stories too? So very cool.

Dar - Thank you. I hope someday to be able to try painting in only north daylight, but for now it's just night painting with "artificial sunlight" bulbs.

Bonnie - Thanks. I know, the little underside reflection (in Cad.Red Lt.) turned out to be such a necessary part of the painting!

Loriann - Thank you. You always notice the parts I had the most fun with! :)

Laurel - Thanks so much! Cool, but none of it pays the bills. I'll visit you again...
