No art posting today--did a portrait in alla prima class today which will have to wait 'till tomorrow for daylight to take the photo.
In the meantime, here's a Kitty Interlude.
(That's Jellyroll, my upside-down boy, on the top of the couch...he's upside-down a lot of the time...really...he's kind of bizarre; my beloved Halfie in my arms whom we had to put to sleep not that long ago; Random the big black ornery cat; and Miss Lemon the sandy-colored one. The only one missing in that pic is little Cleo, who must've been off hunting spiders when The Husband took the pic a few months ago.)

I love your kitty-love fest picture and I am so sad to hear about your loss of Halfie. It's so hard to lose one of the "kids."
Can't wait to see your portrait.
oh I love your cats so very much, especially the black one! We lost three cats in the past year and I really would like to have another black one. But it is too dangerous here at our street.Do you keep them all inside?
RomanticRoses - Thank you for admiring my kitties. :) We actually allow them all outside, and not only that, but they have a cat door so they go in and out any time of day or night. Knock on wood, but I think we haven't lost any yet (in the 6 yrs. I've lived in this house) perhaps because we have two dogs that bark at any hint of "intruders." It's just conjecture, but I feel like maybe it's keeping the foxes and mountain lions and coyotes just slightly at bay. P.S. The one not in the pic, Cleo, is another solid black one.
Loriann - Thank you. There's nothing like a kitty love-fest, is there?
This is great!!
Thanks, Diane. They're my babies.
Oh I LOVE this kitty love fest. I can feel the flurry soft bodies!
Sorry about your loss of Halfie. Did she have renal disease like my Nizzy?
My cats are indoors at all times. I just can't take the chance anymore of losing them on the road or other ways.
I am hoping/planning to adopt a shelter cat when we go home to Massachusetts in May.
Mary - Yes, my sweet Halfie...he did die of renal failure. He made it to 13 and a half, and every moment of it was heavenly with him. Good for you to be going to adopt a shelter kitty (all mine always are). Send pics.
Jala, I love this!! What a wonderful group of sweet kitties, all cuddly and close. I love your upside down kitty , we have one of those, our 23lb., Hercules! Happy kitty love and thank you for sharing this great photo!
I went nuts when I saw this! My kitties would never share me like that - though they often glom up together on their own.
Great photo. And everyone needs an "intermission".
"intermission, with cats" sounds like a title for a great painting.
Nancy - The big boy upside-down kitties are great, aren't they?
Patrice - "glom up together"--you have a great way with words! I like the title for a painting, too.
What a beautiful family of cats you have! It's nothing like being surrounded by cats! I know. They are so wonderful. Sorry to hear about your Halfie.
