Sky study 16

Mellow. No particular place to go...

-----

From the archives: Rumi as a baby, asleep between two couch cushions:

It seems others have clouds in mind these days too. Here's a particularly unusual example. (They say they're smiley faces. They look a bit more like a grimace to me, probably the best one can do when faced with real London skies day after day.)

Jala, so beautiful. They look like two lovers holding hands, or a mama and child, something. Love the colors. Pastel or oil?

Hi Tina, glad you like it! I hadn't noticed the effect of "holding hands," but now that you've pointed it out, I'll never be able to see it the same way. :) Pastel.

The clouds are so real.
I'm in love with Rumi forever.

Nice warm sunny day clouds.

Nice Rumi, too. But show one of the Lynxter (who *ahem* is now larger than a breadbox).

This is one of my favourites.

Irina, thank you! And I heard Rumi whisper that he loves you too. Shhh, don't tell anyone...

Hi Sam - Lynxie is so elusive. He really doesn't like his picture taken, unlike Rumi the ham. But I'll try.

Astrid, thank you! I almost didn't post this one because I thought it didn't have enough "oomph." But then I kept looking at it and realized it has a quieter kind of beauty. Also, danke.

Soft and lovely. Are you sure these aren't abstracts of Rumi?

Love the green passages in this one!

Hey girl, I didn't get what you meant about the sidebar thing, lemme know what 'cha meant, k?

Hi Donald - "Abstracts of Rumi". Love that!

Hi Loriann - you are quite the astute observer.

Hi Tina - On my blog at least, when you scroll down, on the right hand side are all my favorite bloggers' thumbnail images of their most recent completed work. The one for you shows something that seems like either an extreme close-up of your painting, or something else entirely. It makes a cool little thumbnail abstract.

I like this one..and has a picture in if of a stumpy little dog chasing a scrawny cat. I love seeing pictures in clouds. Great series of studies of on of my favourite subjects.
cheers
Mike

Dear Jala, I love your sky paintings (and of course your photo journals of your kittens). I find your sky paintings a wonderful combination of abstraction and realism that is so uniquely Jala. way to go!

Hi Mike - I'm with you, I think clouds are awesome. A stumpy little dog chasing a scrawny cat? Hahahha!

Susan - Thank you. It's funny how even if we want to do something a different way, our own hand shows up no matter what.
