This one jumped right out at me. Couldn't wait to open it to the larger version to get a good look. That gorgeous blue next to the orange has so much great energy!
Hi everyone! I like being compared to Milton Avery! I love the little smile on Rumi's face here. Who wouldn't be smiling in the midst of all that furry warmth and love? Donald, we now have five cats (that's not counting Jellyroll, who unfortunately has not returned). And I'd have to say that Lynx's cuteness still rules. Though Lynx looks more like an adult cat already than a kitten, so it IS fun to be playing with tiny kitten feet again!
I'm a painter (and writer and Spanish instructor) living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I studied classical art in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) school, Colorado Academy of Art, full-time for two years, in order to benefit from the rigorous atelier-style training. I am currently dedicated to exploring abstract and semi-abstract art, working in oil and also in soft pastel. I firmly believe that all human beings are creative, whether or not they have yet found an outlet for the innate creative urge, and that the creative arts are the highest form of human expression. Awww....
And love the Blue Hill - so very Milton Avery... and I love Avery.
Jala- left a long comment on your previous post but wordpress ate it and wouldn't spit it back out.
Argghhhh!
So to re-create the essence, well, wait a minute, I keep looking at these three snuggled animals and can't think of a damned useful thing to say.
The serenity of these souls seems a reflection of the spirit in the house.
They're lucky and so are you and " The Husband."
What a magical moment to have captured and that little newcomer ( who will have a name soon, right ?) has surely never felt so loved.
Nice graphic treatment in the pastel too.
I'm with Patrice... awww...
Love that fantastic blue hill. Brilliant! Love the animals too.

Beautiful pastel! And the animals... what a sweet scene. Now how many kitties is this? Is Lynx soon to loose his most favored new-kitten status?
