Green pear

Back to the "old and familiar" with this one. It seemed relatively easy and enjoyable. I wonder why a few days ago I couldn't paint anything. So weird. Maybe the change in routine is proving beneficial to me.

Very lovely, Jala. I look at what you do and think, wow, why can't I loosen up and paint something pure and beautiful like that??

Thanks much for your comment on my RED RANT. There IS something in the air, I am sure of it!

(Would you be open to posting a phonetic pronunciation of your name? My assumption may be all wrong.)

Hi R!

Thanks for liking the pear. :) It's a tight painting, though, not loose! At least by my standards. I enjoyed this one, though, which was a nice treat after the last couple of weeks of frustrated painting.

"Red rant": I like that! I might just have to have a RED RANT of my own on here one of these days! In fact, I should do one about the fact that my favorite painting surface (Yarka extra-fine oil-primed linen) has been discontinued and DOES NOT EXIST anymore, Waaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Of course, my name: phonetically it would be something like "YAH-luh Fahf". Imagine how it gets mangled all day, every day. :) My husband's name is marginally easier than mine, his is Sanjay Rajan. He once got junk mail addressed to "Sanjam Rajam" and I call him that a lot now.

This is so sensitive and beautiful and very very nicely painted. It's not labored or over worked. I really love the simpicity of this compositions and yet it is very dynamic.

Lovely paintings, and I am totally knocked out by the colors in the pastels on your website. Wow.

Thanks for the phonetic spelling of your name ... I had it all wrong! I really like this painting. And one of my favorite parts is the far right side where you have the under painting showing through! Very nice!

Yes, thanks for the phonics lesson. Great name, your husbands, too (both ways)!

I HATE when my favorite stuff gets discontinued!!! I have a few tubes of paint that I HOARD because they aren't made anymore...AUGH!!!! (I ess that would be my Mussini Cinnabar Green colored rant.)
