Moji eyelashes!

I was curious what would happen if I took a random iPhone pic into the dark during a snowstorm...kinda cool.

Toe-floof and other things

Fennec outweighs Rumi and Gadjo put together.

Moji toe-floof, front feet in both pics.

From a few days ago.  This being Boulder, it's now hot and sunny.

Dog + snow = joy

The only thing that made all that snow (four feet since April began) bearable was watching how happy it made Moji.

(Today was sandal weather, and it'll be around 80 this weekend...typical Boulder, changing radically within just a couple of days.)

Kitty assortment

Who ordered the assorted kitties set? Boxing and gift wrap will be extra.

I love it when he does this. I can't imagine how nice it would feel to be as blissed-out as Fennec.

I thought fellow artists might find this pretty cool. (Sorry for iphone3 camera quality.) I literally thought there were violet lines painted onto the grass when I first glanced at this. It took me a moment to realize that the snow in the fence-posts' shadow was still unmelted. Okay, all you snow painters! Snow shadow really is a blue-purple sort of color!

Snowy days

So much snow lately!

Here's Moji doing his favorite thing: rolling in the snow on top of his tennis ball, then bringing it back with great expectations (please excuse the inferior iphone3 photo quality):

Fennec is a big boy

...a big, sweet boy who likes staying close to his dog. Especially on snowy days like today.

We've had more snow in the last few weeks than all the total moisture we got in probably the last 6 months. I'm guessing that summer fire danger just went down quite a bit.

(Unfortunately, Fennec has gained back the weight he lost. I don't know how, but he did!)

Snowballs and Moji

Woke up a couple of days ago to a lot of snow...
Mojito's favorite thing in the whole world.

He stays busy for at least an hour after coming back inside, trying to pull off all the little snowballs one by one. Eventually he gets too tired and takes a long nap. By the time he wakes up, they've all melted.

Happy Festivus

...the holiday for the rest of us. (George Costanza.)

All the little kids around here must have been thrilled when they woke up. It has been an extremely dry winter so far. Then, last night, Festivus Eve, it started snowing...and it snowed all night...and today it's a White Festivus!

If only it weren't so bitter cold. But this is Mojito's favorite weather, and seeing him enjoying it so much makes me smile.

Happy Festivus!

Untitled 196

Pastel on UArt, approx. 5" x 6".

I framed up some of my recent pastels for another upcoming show. Here are some of them. Each is in an 11" x 14" frame:

View out the back door a couple of days ago. A little blizzard, we got.
I still haven't dug the car out, actually.

The life raft has become a bit overfull. Someone will end up hanging off the edge...

Happy Festivus.

Untitled 176

Pastel on UArt, approx. 5" x 6".

The background color of this piece is a little more blue in real life than it appears here.
-----
We got totally pounded with snow again last night--exactly one week later. It's making me feel weary and hibernate-y.

Fennec feels the same way.

Things still suck here (but I am taking the good advice many of you had, though I may not write about the specifics here), but this guy makes me smile: here's Moji at Coot Lake a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe this photo came out--I had a very enthusiastic wet dog barreling at me full-speed, and a was doing a one-handed photo with an iPhone that doesn't have a very good camera to begin with.

Moji loves fetching in water more than anything in the world.

-----
We have had the most beautiful weather imaginable for almost two months.

Still in shock over waking up to this today. Big branches are breaking all over town (including on our deck) due to the sudden heavy snow (first snow of the season, and it is a huge one!). It went from 80 degrees a couple of days ago and will be only 15 F tonight. Boulder never does anything halfway.

And there really is only one good way to deal with it:
