OK, so this is going to be the formula until....... Each post will show one of your paintings and a kitty picture. Promise?
What is it about kittens and then certain ones in particular that is hypnotic and captivating! Lynx, if any cat could, would tell you. He's soooooooooo......
Lovely pastel. Looks like a flat desert landscape to me, with a mirage or shallow lake shimmering in the distance. That Lynxmuffin is way photogenic! blue eyes, pinkish nose, grey fur... how could he be cuter?
The abstract is warm and lovely, the kitty is warm and lively - but the slipcovers on the couch - good heavens, woman, HOW did you paint them? They're miraculous! I feel like a dolt for concentrating on the freaking slipcovers when there is so much beautiful art in this post, but I am bowled over.
Thanks, Donald. Glad you like the pastel. And well, no, Lynx couldn't possibly be any cuter. :)
Carrie - I'm sorry, I laughed when I realized you thought the kitty pic was a painting. :D But you're forgiven--after all, this is supposed to be a painting blog, isn't it? "Warm and lovely / warm and lively"--I liked that.
Liz - I know, there's something so cute about the little fluffinmuffins "acting like real cats," isn't there?

Hi Jala..nice abstract, a peaceful look..and the little cat is wonderful!! About "copo de leite", or "calla lily"..yes..it's "a glass of milk" in Portuguese. Hope you understand...:-)
I'm a painter (and writer and Spanish instructor) living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I studied classical art in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) school, Colorado Academy of Art, full-time for two years, in order to benefit from the rigorous atelier-style training. I am currently dedicated to exploring abstract and semi-abstract art, working in oil and also in soft pastel. I firmly believe that all human beings are creative, whether or not they have yet found an outlet for the innate creative urge, and that the creative arts are the highest form of human expression. Now I think it is maybe a photograph, and I feel even stupider.
beautiful colors.
I love it when kittens stalk. Mine used to hide in a potted plant and spring out at the dog. Lynx is adorable!
Bill - Thanks. He's my baby.
Bonnie - I know, isn't he just sooooooooooo...?!

Hi Jala! Congrats on getting your new baby. He is just so adorable. I'm also in love with him... Who can resist?
I like the shape and texture on this one so much, and of course its understatement.
So funny to see each recent post with the kitty!
