Water's edge

Pastel over acrylic on watercolor paper again (see my recent Reflections series).

I ruin a lot of these trying to get a successful one (actually, that could be said of a lot of different things in life...), but it's a great way to use up pieces of old acrylic abstract paintings, and when it works, it really works.

Domino effect. People, we have killer cuteness going on in this house.

Beautiful colors with dynamic strokes..plus serious cuteness.
One question, do you coat your old acrylic paintings with pumice or marble dust before adding pastel?

Hi Loriann,

You're going to force me to admit here in writing that I'm simply not that organized. Nope, I just grab a piece of something lying around and start scribbling.

I like this a lot, Jala, especially how the colors blend and interact. Cute group cuddle there, too!

Jill, thank you.

Your Reflections abstract is gorgeous. But your Cuteness Factor in your house is off the charts! Cherish these days!

These pastels are so soft and satisfying... gorgeous colors. And these sleeping animals?? You are so right - too much cutenes in one place!!!!

Your range! You play and experiment and that's what makes your work so stimulating to look at.

I love your abstracts.

Now, if I may get on to the REAL purpose of this comment:
THOSE ANIMALS!!!! I know, I know, it's bad form to " yell ", but I'm sorry, this makes me weep with sweetness.
That pile-up!
Just missing on either end: hamster beneath Rumi/deer resting on Jazz.

Your household can certainly produce calm and security and love.

Hi Brian M, thank you!

Hi Karen - I agree, it's very liberating in that I think I don't attach much importance to it while doing it...which as we know, often leads to a better result.

Hi Kelley, thanks. The little white muffin is growing too fast! Help! Someone stop him!

Hi Laurel, thanks. Hope this extreme cuteness brings a smile to people's day.

Hi Bonnie - Thanks. Oh my god, you cracked me up so bad with your hamster/deer suggestion. Hahahahahahaha! Love it! I'll have to remember to slide a quick deer and hamster into the pic next time. :D I don't know if it's our house that produces this sort of thing, so much as our couch.
