Here's the second Reflections.
And here's the new kitty face in our house. A little, skinny, scrawny, pathetic all-white boy who I think is deaf, and has some eye problems to boot. The Humane Society vet was not sure what was going on with his eyes, though they gave me some drops for them (and they weren't aware of his apparent deafness). We adopted him yesterday. I will be bringing him to my regular vet as soon as I can, to get his eyes checked out more thoroughly.
He doesn't have a name yet, though it occurred to me to possibly name him Keller (after Helen). He had an identical twin brother in the Humane Society with him, and yes, it was tempting...! I wonder if he is part Siamese--he is quite eccentric, bold, loud, and extremely long and thin. He doesn't seem to want to play much, which seems odd to me, as he is only 3 or 4 months old. Rather, he just seems to want to be tucked inside one's shirt at the neck, or cuddle up to everyone he meets, us, the dogs, anyone or anything that is warm will do! His fur seems to be very thin too, so perhaps he really is feeling cold much of the time. He also likes to follow people around, dog-like, screaming for them to pick him up; and he likes to perch on people's shoulders. He likes to try to nurse on Miss Lemon, and as is usual with her, she doesn't mind a bit, and is grooming him and treating him like her own. (She never had kittens, but has "fostered" every kitten we've ever had.) Our new little guy is really an odd one but very endearing so far.

Ooooh, so adorable, heh, husband not bad either. (: You're lucky your current cats are so amiable towards new kitty! We tried to adopt a third and it did NOT go well.
Oh no! Oh, so sorry to read about Jellyroll's disappearance, Jala. Do take care. ):
Lovely reflection - you, I think are my favorite abstract artist! And ... NEW kitty! What does Lynx think? I bet he thinks its FUM! So beautiful! This cat should have a serene name, because when he/she is full grown she'll have a beautiful aura around her.
What a cutie!!! Definitely sounds part Siamese. I am so sorry to hear about Jellyroll's disappearance.
Cool experimenting with the pastel too.
Oh how sweet he looks! One of my all time favorite cats was a white cat named Pookie-Ratt. She was deaf, though not blue-eyed, and she was definitely more like a dog than a cat in several ways. She would play fetch for ever - and her favorite fetch toy? A plastic drinking straw. She went nuts over them, stealing them out of fast-food drinks (often before the drink was drunk) and running up and down the stairs "throwing" and chasing each straw until it got so chew up it, it wilted. I can still imagine her with a straw clamped in her jaws hoping I will toss it for her.
As for the eyes - be sure to have them checked for herpes. There is a form (not contagious to humans) that is a horrible chronic disease in some cats.
All of these new ones are terrific, Jala. This is my favorite of the 3.
Sounds like an interesting process and one that came out really lovely!
Lovin' the kitten pics!
Hi Diane! You made me laugh. :) We have one cat who is not happy with the situation. But she'll get over it. :)
We in general really do have a great sense of camaraderie amongst our menagerie (currently 5 cats and 2 dogs).
Kelley - Thank you! Lynx keeps trying to play with him, but the new little one doesn't seem to get what he's trying to do. Kind of funny, but sad for Lynx. The new one is a boy. Name is still up in the air.
Hi Loriann, thanks. Have you had a Siamese? Do they act this way? He's such a peculiar little thing.
Hi Patrice - What a sweet cat that sounded like! I'm sure you must miss her. I once had a cat that fetched, too. So strange. I know about eye herpes; we used to have a cat with it. This guy might have it. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done (except to try putting lysine in the food). As I understand it, most cats carry the virus (as do humans), but it's not always expressed. I didn't want to not adopt him just because he wasn't 100% healthy. Poor little tyke.
Thanks, Gwen! I think this is my favorite of the 3, too. It's the most serene, too, I think. I am going to do more with this process. Glad you enjoy the kitty pics!
