Lilac in handmade vessel

It's fun painting whatever's in bloom at the time.  This cute little brown pottery vase is another find from the thrift store. I like how it's so plain and simple that it doesn't compete with flowers. It's small--that's a single lilac sprig in there.

Beautiful work!
I like the reflections on the vase and its shadow.

When I first looked at this one I thought it was pastels! You have caught such a beautiful softness that compliments the subjects so well. r.

What amazes me is how, with so few brush strokes, you capture the light, the shapes and the colors of your subject!
