Pastel on PastelMat, approx. 3" x 3".

Sound asleep in the crook of his daddy's arm. I like how Gadjo's bottom jaw is slightly displaced here, making him look like a little goat.

Yesterday's painting was full of sunshine and today we are in the clouds! I must say this series is really wonderful, I love the cool greys in this one Jala. Do you think you will make large paintings from these small ones? I think they would make a strong statement. The light in the last two India photos have been really beautiful. Gadjo is a sweetie!
Aaaaah - nice.
I need to know if the tan is the surface, or a pastel.
The dark blue keeps the image anchored at top, pushing down.
A favorite in this series, Jala.
Nice calming blue-grays in this - sort of an antithesis to the last painting.
The caption and photo of Gadjo just made me burst out laughing! Nothing beats the life of a domestic housecat, spoiled rotten with attention and love :).
This piece makes me want to whisper. Then I scrolled down to see Gadjo snoozing and I knew why. What you do with color and shapes is impressive!
Hi Caroline - Yep, "change in the weather" from one day to the next, huh? Just to keep things lively.
Gadjo is such a great little guy, I don't know how we ever lived without him.
I have no plans as to making these into bigger paintings. Deliberately "copying myself" never works for me, anyway. Though I may try to make some new ones somewhat bigger sometime, to see what that's like.
Casey - Thanks. You "need" to know, huh? Hahahha. It's a pastel layer, not the paper.
Sonya - I hope I get to come back as a pampered housecat next life. I know I'd enjoy it. Though I'd miss reading...
Katherine - Whisper away, you won't disturb the snoozing Gadjo. He sleeps hard. :)
I can dive deep into these colours and tones. A mini meditation.
Feels very Rothko again. Wonderful series Jala. That photo of Gadjo is just precious. What a sweet little goat.
another beauty! this series is incredible. and gadjo does indeed look like a goat!
Now how cute is that Gadjo picture..the min-goat.. wow!
I like the pastel as well feels like evening on a cloudy day at the beach.
