Untitled 104

Pastel on PastelMat, approx. 1.5" x 4.5".

I found a lot of these photos of when Rumi was about 3/4 grown, that I don't think I posted before. But if I did, then please enjoy again.

Hi Jala, are you working purely from inspiration I know you spoke a little about how you work but I was interested to hear about why you choose the colours you use. This one is my favourite by far the shimmering blaze of orange really brings the scene to life a lovely combination of deep peace in the blues and life burst out from the warm yellows, again I see the sea and a beach in this one. Are you near the coast where you live or am I seeing coastal scenes because they are close to my own heart and in my area! beautiful photos of miss lemon and Rumi.

I could look at Rumi 3/4 grown, 2/3 grown, 1 1/2 grown, and can only say that you have the most incredible kitty incubator in your house. I've never seen kits of unrelated litters trundle up together like yours do. These are precious.

This pastel is simple and striking. Very nice.

Hi Caroline, always love hearing your thoughts, thanks. I really do choose colors to begin with based on my mood or else really at random. But once I have one or two colors down, the rest just come based on what feels right, what I feel like the painting is needing from moment to moment. I think you're "seeing" seascapes based on your own love of them and familiarity, because I live in an entirely landlocked place! :)

Bonnie - 1.5 grown sounds more like Lynxie. ;)

Susan - Thanks very much.
