Untitled 60

(Above) Here's the next in the Strata series. Approx. 3" x 5", pastel on Sennelier La Carte.

(Below) Caroline, in stormy Scotland, asked to see an example of one of my small pastels matted and framed. There's probably some better way to take a photo of a glass-covered painting, but since this photo is not going into a museum's archives, and since I'm not going to disassemble the painting, I think we can live with it. (You can see some reflections in the glass, especially at the top.) I frame the minis in either 8" x 10" (like this one) or 11" x 14". This is an inexpensive (yet archival), single-mat (reverse bevel opening) way to frame. Some of my black frames are wood, some are metal.

------

Gadjo seems about the same. I did leave a tearful message on my vet's voicemail and she called back and very nicely said please don't panic. So we'll try our best to squelch panic from now on.

But if you have to be sick or injured, it's nice to have your deaf, pink-eared, furry brother with you.

Isn't it, Gadjo?

[smile]

In India, as seen from my vantage point in the back seat of the car.

This is actually The Husband's brother-in-law's hand. At least I think the term would be brother-in-law: The Husband's sister's husband's brother.

Thank you Jala, it is great to see the framed up painting, what a difference it makes to get an idea of size etc. I like it! the mat and frame really do show off the tiny painting beautifully. I love this series of paintings they are so serene. No storms here tonight!
It is a worry about Gadjo, how cool to have your family member with you inside the travelling taxi! I hope Gadjo feels better soon.

These look awesome framed up like that! Just perfect.

In the photos, you'd never know Gadjo has any issues at all - he looks happy and relaxed with his buddy.

Hi Caroline - What, no stormy Scotland weather in February? Hard to believe. ;)
I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the matted/framed version. I know it helps a lot to get an idea of what these things actually look like in someone's house, on the wall, rather than just on the internet. Though the image I showed you was...still just a pic on the internet. Oh well.
I'll pass along your well-wishes to Gadjo. Thanks.

Hi Brian E - Thank you. I shall continue to roll until I (likely) hit a large boulder at the bottom of the hill.

Hi Sonya - Thanks, I'm glad you like the look. I'm pretty darn happy with 'em myself. More good Strata ones to come.
Gadjo had a couple of hours today where he was almost symptom-free, for whatever reason. It reduced my stress level massively. Hopefully not just a fluke.

This looks lovely framed. I really like the big mount, sometimes the smallest pictures have the biggest presence and really need a big space to sit in. I feel like I could walk miles into that one.

I hope Gadjo is doing well today and you aren't worrying to much - hard I know.

Looks absolutely fabulous framed!

Thanks for the short update on Gadjo. Maybe the lessening symptoms are a good sign?

Love the simplicity of it! I then even love it even better when it sits beautifully in the frame.

Hi Jala, Your small piece is beautifully presented. I can't wait to see where your new direction will lead.
So glad to see Gadjo with his brother in the taxi. When traveling with your brother the anxiety goes down. 6 years ago when one of our kittens( Kinzo's littermate) came down with FIP we brought Kinzo and he, together in their taxi, to each doctor's appointment. FIP is a fatal disease and we knew that. Having his sister with him at every more made the little guy feel better. (I think it helped Kinzo understand too.) So keep Gadjo's support system with him...that is good.
Meanwhile, my friend, take care of yourself. Times like this are hard. We love our fur family...don't we?

the framed piece is lovely, Jala and the babies look so sweet together. I'm going to take it as a positive that he seems better. XO to all of you.
Hubby's brother has pretty rings ;)

Hi Lisa - What a great thought, that you could walk into the painting... I'll tell Gadjo you're thinking of him.

Liz - Thanks very much.

Pam, Leecia - gracias.

Gwen - I think/hope so, thank you.

Adebanji, what a delight to see your name here. Thank you.

Hi Loriann, thank you for all your kind words. I'm so sorry about your kitty, too. I'm certain that Gadjo can only be improved by having his best buddy Rumi around.

Mary, thank you, I'm starting to believe he will be OK or at least not too bad. Fingers crossed. Yeah, nice rings, huh? (bro-in-law, not bro)
