I did one of these as a little demo for a student last night, about using color as well as value to create a 3-D form. (She was using watercolor.) It was really fun, so after my student left, I just had to do a few more! Each sheet is 9" x 12", and yes, I know they're not perfectly round. :) Working on these made me want to try some more realism in pastels; I've done very little of that.

Nice studies in light and color... I like the orange one with the extra scribbles around the edges! So why would you want them to be perfectly round?
I agree. As usual, nothing rhymes with the orange one. It's totally unique. I love orange.
I love the use of temperature to define. And the Hannem. paper looks yummy.

These spheres are really pleasing, Jala - especially satisfying in pastel. It would be great to see you do some more realistic works in soft pastel - you have such a great "touch" with pastel and your abstracts are just beautiful.
Perfect is boring. These are more interesting. And it makes me want to do pastels, too. What a cat!
