Banana peppers

The other night, after having already set up the subject matter, I was tired and felt like I didn't have the energy/time to paint (with oils). So, thinking I was very clever, I decided to do it in pastel instead. Ha! It took me as long or even longer than it would've with oils.

Looks great! Nice reflective shadows.
Love your story-- This is what happens to me, too, whenever I try a time-saving method.

Jala, Beautiful green reflected light in those peppers...yum. As for time...when the excitement is there the energy comes along...don't you think? I guess the pastels
provided the needed "caffeine."

LOL - it's always the way, isn't it! You work well in many mediums, though. Love the conversation going on between these three peppers....

My goodness, you are prolific. Going from abstract oils to a portrait to pastel peppers. Love the reflected light on your peppers!

Great choice of background color; and good reflective light. I think it's a great mental challenge to push ourselves and occasionally use a different medium....even tho I rarely do.

This is a very nice arrangement, Jala, and the colors work well. I love the shadows here and am learning a lot from the colors you use in depicting them in your work.
