I've just read your post and then popped straight over to your website to see more of the series all together. This is such a strong body of work, it's hard to pick a favourite, No.147 is no exception.
(The little kitty paw poking out of the rug gave me a chuckle.)
What a beautiful pastel and how closely it matches Gadjo's soulful eyes!!! Once again, my eyes are drawn to that peaceful touch of purple in the painting. Nice!
The tail always gives the cat away. Toby (my silly ol' cat) keeps trying to hide from me and always seems surprised when I find his tail hanging out of the hiding place. :-)
I'm a painter (and writer and Spanish instructor) living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I studied classical art in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) school, Colorado Academy of Art, full-time for two years, in order to benefit from the rigorous atelier-style training. I am currently dedicated to exploring abstract and semi-abstract art, working in oil and also in soft pastel. I firmly believe that all human beings are creative, whether or not they have yet found an outlet for the innate creative urge, and that the creative arts are the highest form of human expression.
