The many moods of Fennec

Fennec, annoyed.

Fennec, skeptical.

Fennec, coy.

Fennec, straightforward.

Fennec, pensive.

Fennec, pretending innocence.

To me, the most amazing part of getting a new cat is discovering, bit by bit, their unique personality. When you first take them home, they are just cat. Day by day, a strong and unique personality is revealed, until at last, perhaps in a few months, you truly know them, and their quirks. I wish I could meet literally every cat in the world. What a fun goal that would be!

Here's what we've learned about who (the rapidly growing) Fennec is so far:

--When he decides to nap, he drapes himself over cushions and looks like he's melting.

--He's a little piglet and eats as much as he can possibly hold every time he goes near the food bowl. He also howls for cheese, yogurt, and yams. He walks around with his tummy the size of a softball.

--When you do something he doesn't like, like pick him up when he's not in the mood, or pet him when he wants to sleep soundly, he makes these hilarious little irritated grunts. We say he's making his Angry Noises at us.

Gadjo knows instinctively that the color blue matches his lovely eyes. We just got a new batch of SLOWCOLOR scarves that are cross-woven (one color on the warp, a different color on the weft), and some patterned, with stripes and checks. They're beautiful. They're not on the website yet, but will be soon! (Anyone who wants to know when they're up on the website, leave me a comment here and I'll let you know.)

As soon as we unpacked them, Gadjo hopped on top of them and waited politely for his picture to be taken.

Aw...what cute baby pictures! It's funny how the pale area around his eyes makes it look like he's got a mask.

Gadjo is such a handsome young man, and he really makes a perfect model for those scarves.

Oh, what a cutie that Fennec is! (It tickles me to think of him as "Frennec"!) What a character. I love the innocent pose -- those eyes. I'm sure you delight in him all day. Is there a maximum limit of cats at your place? I'm enjoying their diversity vicariously -- thanks for sharing so generously!

Hi Sonya - Gadjo thanks you and says, "I know how handsome I am." Glad you like the baby pics. ;) I wish they'd stay babies forever!

Hi Katherine - Is there a maximum? Do you mean a legal maximum? There's definitely no emotional max. It's funny, his eyes look very green in the photos, but in real life they're more orangey-brown. I wonder which direction they're going in, whether he'll have green or orange eyes as an adult. And "Frennec" really is a character, believe me!
