Ian, Bonnie - Yeah, this one definitely feels even more Rothko than usual for me. I like to think I was born the artistic love child of Rothko and Albers. Bonnie - My camouflaged little boy, he is.
Caroline, Casey - Thank you very much. It thrills me to see and to make paintings like this. It's indescribable.
this painting is wonderful and dreamy Jala! one thing that struck me in the photos was the contrast between the animals snuggling into the warm duvet and the life of the people in India.
I'm a painter (and writer and Spanish instructor) living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I studied classical art in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) school, Colorado Academy of Art, full-time for two years, in order to benefit from the rigorous atelier-style training. I am currently dedicated to exploring abstract and semi-abstract art, working in oil and also in soft pastel. I firmly believe that all human beings are creative, whether or not they have yet found an outlet for the innate creative urge, and that the creative arts are the highest form of human expression. Great minimalist painting, it has the feel of Mark Rothko about it.

This is a lovely painting, Jala. I especially like the subtle color shifts within.
I think the animals like their beds without the covers!
