At the dyers' center...and Rumi hunts gnats

At the dyers' center in Hyderabad, India.

-----

Friend Jonathan came by today...and posed his paws next to Jazz's.

Found Lynx hiding in the shower for some reason yesterday:

Where's Rumi? Sometimes he'll sit like a little statue across the room and just stare at me.

There's cat grass planted in that pot. There are a lot of little gnats that seem to live in or around the dirt. Rumi is the Great White Gnat Hunter.

Wow! Rumi has grown up to be such a handsome kitty! He is all filled out, and has such luxurious fur! I remember when he was a spindly little thing! So cute!

What is it about photos that cut off the tops of subjects that's appealing.
Maybe it's that you read into the scene what you imagine. Like your abstract paintings in a way.
Great shot of bright blue on the one boot on one boot off guy.

But nothing could be more appealing than Rumi's ruminations of barely seen gnats. He may be deaf but he sure has eyes.

I haven't forgotten about Lynx-ie.
He's adorable too.
His motor stalled in the shower to surprise you.
He has to resort to whatever means he can to get your attention.....

Jala, you are so inspiring to me. I love that you include images of your brilliant felines, too. I haven't checked in in a while, but now you're adding cold wax to your (my favorite) amazing abstracts. Thanks for the short video of your open studio - you GO girl!

jala, an astounding set of photos! i would love to paint each and every one especially the photos showing the dying being done. wow, amazing color, texture, the reflection in the water on the floor, the turquoise tub, dark blue pants with some turquoise highlights. yum! your place is stunning. all in all indisputable evidence that you are an incredibly cool person! love you posts, thank you for brightening my day.

Hi Nancy, yeah, Rumi didn't look so hot when we got him. His fur was so thin he was cold all the time, and his eye was in much worse shape. Now he's a rock star.

Hi Suzanne, thank you. You have my permission if you'd like to paint any of my photos. Just because you're special. :) Thanks for visiting.

Hi Bonnie, yeah, I think in the same way I like close-cropped images...it leaves something to the imagination. Like a one-piece suit instead of a bikini?
Even with one not-so-great eye that's still squinty, he does indeed have superpower vision. He never ceases to crack me up. Poor Lynxie. ;)

Kelley, thank you very much!
