Untitled 55 (Mexican Blanket)

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had much time in the studio. It felt great to grab a piece of LaCarte today and just go at it.

They look to me like they were having a conversation and then someone made a faux pas (faux "paw").

Incoming fog, Munnar. And no, that is certainly not typical Indian architecture--it's a hotel complex built in Swiss chalet style.

Very pleasing - I love red the best.

This is fabulous, Jala! Love those rusts and reds. It does have a very Southwestern calmness to it. Mexican Blanket is a very fitting title.

Hi Casey, thank you (and I hope you've received your book back by now?). Red, orange, blue: my favorites always. Oh, and yellow too. :)

Hi Gwen, thanks. It reminded me of a serape, when I had finished it.

Sam -!Muchas gracias!

Lovely painting Jala, that yellow and orange streak of colour really brings the painting together so nicely.

You're getting good response to this one. It looks great on the iPhone!

Hi Tina, and thanks!

Hi Rahina, thanks. The lines I draw into the "horizon line" on these paintings always have to be done super fast, or they don't look as good. Doing so is always at risk of ruining the painting, but it's a worthwhile risk.

David - Thanks!

Caroline - Thank you.

Liz - thanks much.
