Hi Loriann - Have been experimenting with the Lascaux and also with acrylic gesso + marble dust. I can't figure out how to apply any of these without too much texture (lines). I have done some sanding on some of them but then it seems like there's not enough tooth.
Your work 'Untitled 53' is just perfect, very minimalist with just a hint of landscape. Congratulations!
Nice! The colors are very calming.
I've been considering experimenting with different grounds, like pumice/marble dust, but am worried that I'll dislike the texture after trying Colourfix paper, which I really don't care for due to the rough surface.
Texture works well in this piece, for sure :).
Wonderful minimalist piece. There are days by the sea that look just like that. The Lascaux pastel and technique are something I know nothing about, but the result is interesting. These experiments are good for growth and opening new doors!

Hi Sonya, glad you like it. I once ordered a sample pack of different pastel papers...and as a recall, I really didn't like any of them, at least at that time. My favorite overall is still LaCarte. Or, for more of a painted look, PastelMat. So far not a big fan of marble dust nor Lascaux.
