Named after the Bertolucci film set in Morocco, this is loosely based on a photo we took somewhere there.
What is this furry, stripey lump?
We had cleaners in the house today, and when I came in from walking the dogs, I saw this on the couch:

really nice composition on this painting Jala! I also enjoy the cat-scapades in your blog! Very endearing coverage of your pets!
Beautiful, evocative piece. Tells a story with 6 simple shapes. How large is it?
Also wanted to tell you , I got the video "Who the Bleep is Jackson Pollack". Yikes. Exposes the absurd lengths some will go to in order to protect their turf. Disturbing and funny. Excellent recommendation. TY.
You really have produced a fabulous group of pastels. I love the colors here, and the ambiguous perspective keeps me looking!
I guessed what that lump was before you told me. Yup hiding from the cleaners. Very effective.
Hi Sandra, thanks. The kitties say hi.
Hi Candace, I'm so glad you liked the movie! Absurd, disturbing, funny--all perfect adjectives. The pastel is 9" x 7"--not so big, but it feels big. I had to go and count the shapes after you told me how many there were. :)
Hi Donald, thanks! I think with perfectly rendered perspective, it would have come out boring. Sometimes distortion has a lot more emotion. Glad you like this Morocco series. There's enough paintable material in Morocco to last lifetimes.
I know, isn't Lynx just SO effective?!
A nice bright one! Love these colors!!
Great comments about perspective! I learn a lot from you, Jala, and appreciate it all. I know I'm very lucky to be able to see your stuff up close and personal. Like she keeps saying, folks, it looks even better than on the blog.
Hi R,
Does that mean they're usually dark and gloomy? ;)
Hi Sam - Thank you. You are too kind. Really.
