The other day I looked out the kitchen window and saw my sleek little black cat Cleo in the midst of the neighbor's giant red tulip patch... Aahhh. If only I had a photo, but I know you artists out there can picture what it looked like.
In lieu of that, you'll have to content yourselves with this recent pastel.

I can't help but read landscapes into these recent abstracts, Jala, and see this as an early morning version of Blue Glow's nocturnal landscape. These cool blues and the green are really lovely, and the sections are nicely proportioned.

So tranquil. I agree with Brian, definitely a landscape..but then again I might see a landscape in anything.
Another spectacular piece, Jala. A seascape? I really like those lines of yellow along the "horizon".
Now I bet you can remember enough of that cat in the tulips to inspire a great abstract!
Brian M - It's interesting, because every time I do an abstract, as soon as I have a "horizon line," it also looks to me like a landscape. Even if there's absolutely no other "evidence" that it is one. This is something that I find endlessly fascinating.

Liz - Thanks so much. Though I love photography, I most of the time hate how "overused" cameras are in our lives...and so I actually rarely take pics these days (other than for my blog). But that really was a gorgeous moment out the window.

Donald - Thanks. You think seascape because you're at the sea, I think landscape because.... You're right, the tulip/cat scene is quite well in my visual memory...but I almost never use black in my abstracts...red and black together are...I don't know...too overpowering?
