Fennec meets his many other animolecule family members

We're getting pretty much nothing done since Fennec arrived.

Technically, he should still be in isolation, but we couldn't stand it anymore. So he's now spent a whole day with the rest of the menagerie. Here's the breakdown on everyone's reactions after Day 1. First, the cats:

Gadjo -- who is still a kitten himself, 9 or 10 months old -- is very ambivalent. He hisses one moment, then initiates a game of tag the next. He has definitely been sulking since he intuited something going on behind the closed door all week.

Rumi -- is utterly thrilled by every new being he encounters, Fennec no exception.

Miss Lemon -- As she has done with every kitten, acts like she doesn't notice it for the first half hour, then slams it to the ground and gives it a serious bath.

Lynx -- is nervous and jumps in terror every time Fennec goes launching at him to play. But then, Lynxie is afraid of everything.

Cleo -- doesn't like any other cats. Fennec no exception. She hisses loudly whenever she passes through the house (a couple of times a day only; she mostly lives outside) to keep all the other kitties at bay. Fennec is respecting her hisses and, intelligently, slinks away.

Now, the dogs:

Jazz -- As a 14-year old Golden, I'm not sure he even notices there's a new fluffinmuffin running by.

Mojito -- Took a few sniffs, got a little kitten hiss, looked surprised, got rewarded with dog cookies by us afterwards for being gentle. He licked Fennec's face.

And Fennec himself? Oh, does he love having a big family!

It's little Mr.Fennec, ready to attack the hand...

Lynxie and Mojito haven't said hi for a while.

Lynx is getting... substantial! I bet he's still the sweetest! Oh, you wonderful people, giving such a great home to yet another kitty. He is ADORABLE! Best wishes!

Oh, he is SUCH a pretty boy. He does look a lot like Coltrane (or at least has his same coloring).

The funnest part of fostering is letting them out into the house and seeing their reactions to our cats, and our cats' reactions to them!

Keep your kitties safe, especially Clio. A cat contracted the plague at 6th & Maxwell a couple of weeks ago.

I love the way "The Husband's" face never changes even after his finger clearly gets stuck between Fennec's teeth :-)

Knowing that cats are nocturnal, do you get much sleep these days???

Great picture sequence of "The Attack of the Hand" - Love it!

you guys are so so generous! Makes me happy!
My little girls are getting big and one is a menace in the morning. She crawls under the blankets and bites my feet....makes me crazy!!!
I love all your animolecules Jala ;)

Hi Caroline - Thank you. I think if you do a search on my blog for "Cleo," you'll get a couple of pictures of her. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Hi Kelley - thanks. I don't want to be an animal hoarder, but I'd rescue every single one in the world if I could. And Lynxie...Lynxie is by far the most substantial kitty. Also the shyest.

Hi Robyn - Thanks for your visit! I'm glad you came and got to see the "mini Coltrane."

Hi Sam - Yeah, I heard about that. Cleo is uncontainable, though. I did learn about the symptoms in case she does get it.

Hi Viviane - Fennec's teeth are still little and don't really hurt yet. ;) As for the cats being nocturnal, well, so am I.

Hi Mary - Thank you! I'm so glad your girls are making you happy, though the morning menace thing does sound crazy-making!

Hi Celeste - Thanks!
