Untitled 76

Pastel on Sennelier LaCarte, approx. 3" x 3".

-----

Ann Gorbett, with my permission, has wonderfully captured Rumi and Gadjo in palette knife paint. Check it out.

If one is going to lounge in the sun in a papasan with one's best buddy, one ought to do it in style.

-----

In India. (Suggestion: do not eat only the heads of the asparagus your wife was going to make for dinner.)

-----

Official mug shot (asparagus perp apprehended).

If I had time, I would start a whole new blog called Stupid Things The Husband Does. I'm sure it would be very popular.

(I told The Husband about this idea, and he's okay with it. No sense of shame.)

HA HA HA!! The photo of the perp and his asparagus bunch had me laughing loudly!

Thanks for sharing the link to Ann's portraits of Rumi and Gadjo - they are very nice. And, yep, Papasan chairs are made for cat naps...a favorite spot when I used to have one of those chairs.

[btw, your thumbnails still aren't showing up; go and try the corrections I sent you...I promise they are easy-peasy!]

Jala,

I've been watching this series of paintings as you've posted them. This is the funny part ... I kept wondering what your intent was with the names ie, United 74, United 75 and so on. Tonight is the first time in a while that I've actually been on the computer and I now see they're called untitled. On my smart phone I was sure they said United.

I do like the series of untitled paintings now that I'm re-united with the title.

These "Strata" paintings are nice, Jala. Wonderful colors. At first I thought they were inspired by those spools of thread in India. Then I read the description of your process you wrote a few posts back... Interesting.
And then looking at the asparagus perp, at first I thought the headless asparagus might be the newest gourmet delight...
Maybe I should be careful about my first impressions today?

#76 breaks the earthly bonds and looks watery. Cool!

The kitties look like lambkins here.

Was the mug shot taken right before the 40 lashes with 40 wet asparagus spears?

Hey Jala: thanks so much for the link and your nice comments! All your boys are mischief makers aren't they? Including the biggest one of all-love the idea for the new blog. Cheers. Ann

Hi Sonya - I would try your fix, but if I have to do it on every post...ugh...plus, there are so many others' thumbnails not showing up. I think I'll just keep being lazy and hope blogger fixes it.
We rarely are able to sit in our papasans. There's always cats in them. Glad The Husband gave you a laugh.

Hi Celeste - Thanks. Yeah, I think The Husband gets away with a lot because he has a cute face. If I had time, I'd totally start the new blog.

Hi DD - Ha ha, I bet you were really wondering about the "United"s. United with what? Now, where are your glasses? :)

ELFI - Si j'aurais le temps...je crois que c,a serait tres populaire, ce blog!

Hi Donald - thank you. Headless asparagus, the newest gourmet delight. Hm.

Sam - "Lambkins"! Cuuuute! Glad you enjoyed the breaking of earthly bonds here. And the breaking of asparagus.

Hi Ann - You're welcome. Yep, they're all quite the mischief-makers. ESPECIALLY the big one.

Hi Jala! that photo of your "perp" is hysterical! I think the blog idea would be a real winner!
I wonder if you could be convinced to post the whole series of your untitled pastels in one post. Placed in the smallest format many could fit together and we could see them together like a show. Something is going on in these color studies and I am unable to pull it apart piece by piece. What do you think?
