Sky study 22

Found this kicking around...I don't think I've ever posted it before. The blue is actually a blue-violet in real life. That always seems to be an impossible color for me to capture on film.

Hmm...makes me want to paint some more skies. Might just have to do that.

Jala,

Love your sky study and your babies. I can imagine the blue in a more violet tone!

Clouds - yay! I have, of course, been enjoying your oils and abstracts, but was secretly hoping you'd do more pastels and cloud/sky paintings.

The Rumi and Gadjo pictures are so sweet; I'm not sure I've ever seen cats that were unrelated have such affection for each other as all of yours have.

You can paint some skies for me Jala I am seriously lacking in inspiration for them at the moment! Glad to see this wee gem of a sky, you are right that violet blue is not an easy one to photograph, I have the same trouble with turquoise blue. I am wondering what the mustard yellow colour is as it goes beautifully with the blues in the cloud. This is a super wee cloud lovely shape with some nice cool darks and good highlight too.
Bless the kittens they are just so happy!

Nice! I like the unusual size panels you use. Great composition and love the color, as always.
