Life drawing

So thrilled to be back in a life drawing class again, even though it's just four sessions. Hoping the instructor will decide to continue; this is just a sort of mini-course for July. My only complaint is that it's going to be the same model every time. I like variety.

The technique on these was to spend just a few minutes per drawing, continuously moving the charcoal in geometric shapes as we saw them, not using line. It was interesting.

Mona Lisa's got nothin' on my boy Rumi's smile.

Miss Lemon. It's too hot to have any bones.

these drawings are so expressive. I love seeing the form move through it's own space and time

Oh, I hope to find a life drawing class or group when I get to Durango! I took a figure drawing class in college and loved it. Fun gestures!

Nothing beats the perpetual smile of a sleeping cat...always makes me smile as well.

These are very nice... you've captured the gestures and also the shape and volume with just those few strokes. There's a cafe' here called "No Bones" -- I wonder if that refers to Miss Lemon's pose.

Great approach with the life drawings Jala - I'm itching to get back to my class tomorrow evening. We're lucky in that we do get a variety of models.
