Untitled 47

There's a big problem with this whole art blogging thing! The more you do it, the more great blogs you discover, the more time you spend looking at other blogs with other great art, the more links you add to your blogroll...is all wonderful and marvelous...but the more people you want to keep blog-visiting means the time you can spend looking gets more and more diluted...and the more time you spend visiting blogs and enjoying them and getting cool ideas, the less time you spend actually creating your own art (and keeping up on your own blog). And the more popular you get on your own blog, the less time you have to keep up with responding to the comments, every single one of which is gratefully, heartfelt-ly received.

It's crazy. And it's the great irony of the awesome new power of art blogging and linking.

But these two aren't wasting any brain power worrying about it...
Miss Lemon's perpetual nurturing of kittens always touches me.

A couple more India photos...

I'm so glad you posted this one. You've got a lot of great stuff in your studio, but this one really caught my eye. The colors are so calming.

Dear Jala,

I fully understand your posting and before sharing my views, let me say I like the painting you have posted this evening.

If you have seen my DIRECTORY, you can see the number of blogs I follow and the number so far is over 150 with another 2000 links on hold.

When I decided to find out all I could about blogging and how to best showcase ones artwork, I did several months of research, therefore the 2000 plus links that I have collected.

It will take some time to add them, but even with only a current blog roll of 150+ I find battling with just visiting or visiting and commenting.

I am never one to just write a couple of words and then move along. So now I need to find a balance. But since my Mac laptop is down and I cannot afford to repair it or replace it, I have been thinking about creating another painting. Like I mentioned, one needs to find balance.

Wishing you all the very best,
Egmont

Untitled #47 is deep, masterful and mesmerising (have I used that before with your work - wonder why?)

I see again the painting that responds to my soul's vibrations. Great.
I completely agree with your thoughts about blogging and I also do not know how to find a balance. But deep in my heart I know that my own creativity, urge to express myself is stronger then anything else. It looks like I am disbalanced in a way of blogging :-))

Twice I've brought down my blog because I, too, felt overwhelmed with exploring, commenting, viewing .... until I thought my head would explode! And, as you said, less time actually painting, creating, writing. A double-edged sword, which I am now viewing as a cycle of fallow periods and social periods. I love the vertical stretch of this work, very totemic.

Jala, I completely agree with you about blogging. Balance, I guess.
As to the painting, the long vertical can either be dynamic or very soothing. Your choice of colors made the decision very clear. Beautiful use of color.

It's a real and prevalent conundrum. Not sure how to balance it all but it's clear that the benefits are worth the sense of distraction.
I justify the time spent by considering what time I'd be using to go to museums, galleries, art shows.
Almost none of which we have here.
There's so much valuable insight and exchange taking place here.

Part of my research and study.

Love the color relationships on this piece .

Lucky Rumi, to be nestled under the sweet protection of Miss Lemon.
So loving.

Untitled #47 is beautiful. I love the colors and the shape of it. Love your husband's feet in the photo and the pink bus.
