Torso

This is one from a while back.

I have some large oil abstracts that I'm trying the Liquin glazing technique on again, but we've had our own mid-level snowpocalypse here, and the cold and damp seemed to keep the glaze from drying, even for five days. That doesn't seem right/possible to me...but that's what has happened. The sun is back out today so hopefully those paintings will now dry enough for another layer.

I like how The Husband's feet are an integral part of this picture.

Trees in the mist...in Munnar, of course.

Love the solid feel to this painting. It reminds me of an early Picasso, only better. The trees in the mist looks like a painting waiting to happen!

Wow - Jala! Very interesting, a totally different side I've never seen from you before, I am excited to see more! Woot!

I like this. You've done a great job using color and value to model those nearly abstract shapes -- yet it reads as a figure. Fun!

The torso is so dramatic and moody!

Love the husband's feet in the photo. Great value changes on the figure.

Hey Jala, The trees in the mist photo is splendid. I see the trees as human forms in the photo and like that you posted a figure piece with them. Intentional? I tend to read figure into everything but those distant misty trees have perfect human proportion...no...I sense a dialogue...

Your own mid-level snowocalypse, eh? Enjoy. Very sculpted, a mix of Picasso and Mayan influence.
