A big splash of very bright color, I'd say. I like that little bit of greenish-yellow and the dark marks peeking through. Interesting...
Wow, and I missed your last post with the lilacs. Fabulous painting. Isn't it a thrill when it just flows like that, and suddenly there's nothing you would change? Don
I'm a painter (and writer and Spanish instructor) living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I studied classical art in an ARC (Art Renewal Center) school, Colorado Academy of Art, full-time for two years, in order to benefit from the rigorous atelier-style training. I am currently dedicated to exploring abstract and semi-abstract art, working in oil and also in soft pastel. I firmly believe that all human beings are creative, whether or not they have yet found an outlet for the innate creative urge, and that the creative arts are the highest form of human expression. Simple, subtle, and beautiful design.
This is so energizing! I imagine it has a powerful impact in person at that large size.
oh wow... very beautiful! thanks for the inspiration to pick up oils again, jala - i've got a couple pieces on the go with the task of layering :)
I SO love the oranges! Again, very strong but subtle composition. It's like a portrait of energy!
